Colombo: at Sale 50 held on the 19th and 20th December, there were 5.1m/kgs on offer. The 0.72 mkgs of Ex estate teas on offer met with good demand. Select Best Western High Grown BOPs were firm to dearer; the below best and plainer varieties were firm to easier at times. Select Best Western High Grown BOPFs were firm to dearer following quality, the below best and plainer varieties were firm to a little easier at times. Nuwara Eliya BOPs were easier, and BOPFs appreciated. Uda Pussellaw a BOPs were irregularly easier, the BOPFs too were tending irregular following quality. UVA BOPs w ere firm to irregular following quality, the BOPFs w ere mostly easier. The Low grow n CTC BP1s were barely steady, the limited quantity of High and Medium BP1S were irregular. Low Grown CTC PF1s were firm to dearer following quality, the High and Medium PF1s maintained last levels. The 2.3Mkg of Low Grown teas which were on offer met with good demand. In the Leafy segment, OPs were dearer, OPAs appreciated a few rupees. OP1s were mostly dearer. In the Semi Leafy segment, Select best BOP1s were firm, other BOP1s were marginally lower. Pekoe varieties were dearer. Pekoe 1s gained on quality. In the Small Leaf segment, Well-made FBOPs were firm, others were irregularly lower. FBOPF varieties continued to attract good demand. FBOPF1s were firm to easier. BOPF.SP, BOPF, BOP.SP and BOPs too met with fair demand. All Premium Flowery teas on offer were firm. Turkey, Russia, Iran and the C.I.S countries lent fair support.
