Calcutta: at Sale 50 held on the 13th, 14th and 15th December, 2022, CTC: Fair demand for better and better medium Assams at irregularly easier levels. Bolder brokens were a weak feature this week.

There was good demand for the cleaner medium categories which were barely steady. Good and medium Dooars were irregular around last levels whilst plainer/BLF sorts were irregular and easier at times.

Dust: Improved demand for good liquoring Assams especially for the PD grade. Better Assams sold at irregular levels closely following quality although levels were barely steady and easier at times. Medium Categories were irregularly easier. M/s Hindustan Unilever operated in leaf market on good and medium Assam category with useful support on brighter Assam dust grades. M/s Tata Consumer Products operated on medium and plainer categories with selective enquiry on brighter Assams in dust market. Western India buyers operated on liquoring varieties along with regional packeteers. Export activity was negligible. Local buyers operated on the Dooars.
